Cornea and External Diseases

Physicians of the Cornea and Refractive Surgery Service treat cataracts and the entire range of conditions and disorders occurring on the surface of the eye and/or affecting the cornea, such as dry eye disorders and ocular inflammations or tumors.  Treatments include pharmacologic control of inflammation and surgical interventions, such as corneal transplants, stem cell transplants, LASIK or other refractive procedures.

The Minnesota Lions Eye Bank is a service administered in conjunction with the Department of Ophthalmology which provides surgeons throughout the state and region with ocular tissue for transplant surgeries.  Donald J. Doughman, M.D., is Medical Director of the Eye Bank.
